Home / Vulnerability Assessment
A manufacturing company that relies on a complex global supply chain was planning a significant expansion into international markets. They were concerned about potential disruptions due to geopolitical instability, natural disasters, varying international regulations, and other unforeseen events in new territories.
They needed a comprehensive assessment to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies to support this expansion. Furthermore, they sought to enhance their supply chain security and efficiency to support their growing international operations.
Enhanced Patrol conducted a thorough supply chain vulnerability assessment with a focus on the company’s planned international expansion. Our team analyzed the company’s existing supply chain and projected its expansion into new regions, identifying potential risks at each stage.
This included evaluating supplier reliability in new markets, international transportation routes and logistics, warehousing practices in different countries, compliance with varying international regulations, and cybersecurity measures across their expanded network.
We used a combination of data analysis, on-site inspections where feasible, international regulatory research and interviews with key personnel to gather comprehensive information.
As part of this process, Enhanced Patrol assisted the company in establishing CTPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) certification.
The assessment provided the company with a clear understanding of its current and projected supply chain vulnerabilities in the context of its international expansion. Enhanced Patrol developed a detailed report with specific recommendations for mitigating these risks, including diversifying international suppliers, establishing robust contingency plans for each new market, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and improving communication and coordination across the expanded supply chain.
Critically, we were able to assist them with securing their supply chain for international operations, allowing them to confidently expand their operations into new markets.
The establishment of CTPAT certification provided numerous additional benefits, including streamlined customs processes, reduced inspections, prioritized cargo processing, and enhanced security throughout their international supply chain. This not only improved the security of their supply chain but also increased the velocity of their products through faster import/export procedures.
This strengthened their resilience, minimized the potential impact of future disruptions, ensured business continuity during the expansion process, and maintained customer satisfaction on a global scale.
